Commish working toward trio of charters
The commission is currently working on three separate charters: a city of Lafayette charter that would grant the city its own mayor and council; a charter for Lafayette Parish that would create a parish council and parish president; and an amending version of the existing Lafayette Consolidated Government charter, which went into effect in 1996.
