    Perhaps, but Rutgers is in a different state.

    The Meadowlands is in New Jersey, but the pro F/B teams that play there call themselves "New York". That whole area is just a sprawling mess with no firm boundaries.

    All in all, I *think* Rutgers in the NYC MSA, and thus would have a beef with having another NYC school join. (I might be wrong, but still, that puts those two schools about as close as UNT/SMU, and far closer than us or LA-T to Tulane)
