Hey Turbine, how about adding Lawrence Willis to the list? I think he at least deserves to be one of those listed, as he won the triple jump at the USA 2010 Indoor Championships and placed 3rd at the USA Outdoor Championships this year.

Pretty impressive when you consider many of those guys he competes against are full-time athletes with professional coaches while Lawrence works for the Lafayette Sheriff's office and for the most part, trains on his own.

NB, Just my thought, but I wouldn't consider Lawrence as Pro as far as athletics. Still amateur perhaps.

Yeah, maybe you're right. The winning of the National T&F Champs seems to me at least comparable to being good enough to playing in the pros at say.wide reciever. Not a pro-bowler level, but at least making a team.

If he makes the U.S. Olympic team next year, I'd think that would have to put him up for consideration on that list.

Oh, I agree completely. I think he's one of, if not the top athlete to come out of UL in the last 10 years. Just not on a professional level. I admire him for sticking to his amateur status. I sure hope he makes next year's team.

Willis ain't to shabby of a fisherman either. We did pretty good on the specks out at Turner's Bay the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Nice race between NFC Championship participant "Peanut" Tillman and Brewers starting Catcher Jonathan "Luc" Lucroy, they are dead tied at 111 right now, way out ahead of everyone else.

Whomever wins (I voted for Peanut), they are very deserved of this reward.
