After a week of three tough losses, sending them falling to last in the standings, the IceGators hit the road to take on Huntsville and Knoxville. They will do so without fan favorite Dennis Sicard against Huntsville on Friday night. Sicard has been suspended for one game for his actions in last Saturday's game against Fayetteville. Sicard was involved in two post game fights where he left the bench to partake in.

Last week was a very disappointing week for the Gators because they did not play bad but were left with the sour taste of three losses. On Thursday night the Gators suffered a loss to Mississippi because they could not find the back of the net due to an extremely hot goaltender Dan Earles. It was the first time all season that the IceGators did not score. Gator goalie, Darling, also played very well only letting up 2 late goals. Friday night was by far the toughest loss all season. Up by one with under a minute it seemed that the Gators were going to be victorious, but with only 4 seconds left the Fireantz scored to force overtime. Eventually the Antz won in the 6th round of a shootout. The same teams faced off again the next night, Saturday, and the Gators again played solid hockey but lost 5-3 due to a late empty net goal.

Lately the puck has not bounced the IceGator's way but if they continue to play hard it eventually will. They are now 7-13 but could easily be close to .500. The team is progressing even if the standings do not show it. There are 36 games to turn things around and get into a playoff spot, and there would be no better way to begin a hot streak than a win tomorrow night against the first place Hunstville Havoc.
