I think our biggest obstacle is getting THESE types of players. The Josh Johns, the Houston Bates, and Bakari Hollier's of the world.

Really good athletes that LSU would rather grey shirt.

UL could become highly successful with a few of these guys a year.

    T,

Do you know how good Eugene's pass blocking skills are?? Considering the style offense he played in HS, I think its safe to say no one really knows his skills in that area. I imagine IF he commits and can't block, he will spend the majority of his time on the pine pony??

Running the Veer doesn't allow much work on pass protection. He can catch the ball out of the backfield as evidence of his 62-yard swing pass in the state championship game. Of course he is a tough kid, not scared of knocking heads with a defensive or offensive player. Ask Scofield at STM.

I agree with you, but when put in the shotgun formation, Im just curious how he handles having to pick up blitzes when the rounds are live. They can't swing him out of the backfield every pass play. I'm def. not suggesting that he can't do it, just wondering if you knew his skills in that department from a camp or something.

I think he could play opposite Bentley at CB. He may be better at defense.

This is a great opportunity for Hud to implement the same "grade assurance" programs used by the BCS schools to assure the participation of their talented players. With Eugene's talent, I am sure that within one semester he will be an A/B student at whatever school he attends. As for blocking, why in the world would you care if he can block when he should have the ball in his hands 30 times a game.

If I'm not mistaken, Eugene's father played for the Cajuns.

I think Coach Hud will change our inferiority complex when it comes to LSU and compete head to head with them. When he wins those battles, look out.
