    Default Acadiana High Athletes

New Ragin’Cajuns Head Football Coach Mark Hudspeth wasted little time visiting 5A state champion Acadiana High Wreckin’ Rams, offering Micah Eugene and Bakari Hollier scholarships.

There was the fence joke about keeping kids here. Well he is a man of his word and he is going after the best players in this area. Keep it up Coach.

I only saw them play once, but they both look like legit D1 players. Eugene was every bit as good as LSU recruit Paul Turner.

It's so great to hear about our head coach, going out there, making visits, talking to the recruits, and having a positive impact. I don't recall hearing many of these type stories before from any head coach we had in the past. Maybe it happened and I didn't hear about it. I don't know about other coaches, but it's a good sign of what Coach Hud is all about.

    Good story CajunT.

what about Eugene's grades? He isn't eligible and if he gets eligible, isn't he being recruited by SEC schools? Why do we have a shot at getting him? Sorry, I may be a little ignorant on this situation.

From what I have read no he is not eligible yet. But why would he not come here. I like that Coach Hud is going after the best no matter who els is recruiting them. If you dont recruit them how will you know if they come here or not. I will tell you one thing he will land some of the better talent that is being recruited by the SEC. You never know unless you try why assume they wont come here.

The man's been working 3 days and already trying to get the big fish in our own backyard. Mad props to Coach Hud!

yea I guess i'm just surprised we are competing with LSU for a recruit this good. Guess i'm just so used to the type of recruits the old staff would get

I'll reserve my happiness for when he actually lands one of these guys.

Well, I wouldn't say we're competing. Just asking.

I think our biggest obstacle is getting THESE types of players. The Josh Johns, the Houston Bates, and Bakari Hollier's of the world.

Really good athletes that LSU would rather grey shirt.

UL could become highly successful with a few of these guys a year.
