I'm in the time is now mode. It's time for everything to start clicking. No more talk about potential. New administration, new coaches, new AD. We have the RCAF. There are no more excuses to be had. Just have to get it done.
I am actually more excited now than ever, I guess my patience is just gone, LOL.
King of the lead, follow, or get out of the way mentality now.
Actually, I think we should hire Jake to be on the RCAF. I don't care if we have to pay him 100K per year. He would be worth it.
I got a mailer raising funds for a Nelson Stokley memorial scholarship through the UL foundation. I wonder if that is an attempt to mend fences. Of course when I went online to donate the link did not work. Our university still has a way to go in the fundraising dept.

Good attitude Slappy!
The fresh faces at UL have a window of opportunity that can seriously help reconnect some disconnected UL people. Some of those disconnected people are very good people that simply have their reasons for disconnecting... or limiting their involvement.
When Jake and others meet Hudspeth... we are going to reconnect with our former players a lot better than in our past.
A friend of mine in Baton Rouge was in Orlando at a large industrial conference a few weeks ago. He was visiting with the owner of a large industrial equipment manufacturer out of Jackson, MS that he does a huge amount of business with. The guy asked my friend if he knew much about the Ragin Cajuns and Mark Hudspeth becoming their head football coach. My buddy told him "the Cajuns aren't very good in football". He told my buddy "I assure you, that's all about to change". He said, "I'm a friend of Mark's and a Ragin Cajun fan now and will be heading to Lafayette to go to their games". He said that Hud would get great young men to attend UL and make them greater young men. I think the word will get around Louisiana and make a lot of great student athletes want to be in Hudspeth's program.
Bradshaw is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to former athletes giving back. Shaq has made a buck or two since he left LSU and when was the last time you heard of him giving anything back? The simple fact is that most athletes never give anything back once they leave. This is true at every university. I'm not sure why, but most don't seem to have a desire to "give back", at least not to their alma maters.
In the case of Shaq, I disagree. Oiler, I doubt you have been to The Cook Hotel on LSU's Campus. This hotel runs on private donations from LSU alumi. Most people have their names next to the doors for their donations, Shaq has his name over the whole lobby! I think he does his part in giving back, LOL!
