They have other offers, ULM(i said no freakin way), Ark State, Henderson State, and verbals from Memphis and USM. When they came to the State games this year, Hud was the coach that made em feel wanted. Scout isnt the best source on Ms State news, they interview who they want so alot of kids go un-noticed, but i am biased since i am responsible for the recruiting database for another site. State took another TE early in the process at their Big Dawg camp. Larry was in Cancun at a church retreat and missed the camp. The TE that state took played Oxford HS. Both that kid and Larry were at a State game and larry asked me, "is that Rufus?" i said yeah, he said, "we play them Friday and I am gonna get all up in him" lol well he did. 1st play of the game, Rufus caught a 10yd out and Larry destroyed him. he never caught another pass/ Mean while, Larry had 6 rec for 88yds and 2 tds. He is the best TE in Mississippi, just went under the radar. Deshaun, well, he caught us all off guard. He is a beast on the hardwood. Played basketball and was pretty good. The summer before his Sr year, Larry dared him to play FB. He did it to shut him up. In the meantime, Deshaun goes out and has 1288yds and 15tds. If he had played more than one year, he would have been the top rated WR in the state. Billups is 6ft 1 and about 175. thats the knock on him. he needs a redshirt year to gain weight but i saw probably 100 qbs this year and the only one I liked more was Dak Prescott.

I have to echo Z's sentiments ... we are very happy these young men are considering our university. If your comments prove to be true, we will be ecstatic AND as stated by others, prepare to enjoy tailgating CAJUN style!

i have learned that in recruiting, nothing is 100 % until that Wednesday in February. But i will say this, i got no reason to get you guys excited for no reason. I have stated that I am a Bulldog, first and foremost, but for the next 4 years, i am gonna be a Cajun. Stay tuned.......

Sounds like another QB that no one wanted out of high school.... some kid named Delhomme.... Wound up having a decent career and actually made a little money in the pros

Very good comparison. He has also been compared to Brees and Kellen Moore. He commands attention in the huddle, can read a defense and check into plays to put his guys in the right spot, and throws slants and outs on a dime.
