Thread: Should Brian Mitchell Retire at Homecoming

  1. UL Football Should Brian Mitchell Retire at Homecoming

The NFL's all-time yardage gained leader, Brian Mitchell has gone on the record saying if he was not with an NFL team by the end of training camp, it was over.

So far during the 2004-05 NFL football season, Brian has not signed with an NFL team.

So, should Brian Mitchell utilize Homecoming 2004 as his venue to officially retire?

I do not think Homecoming is the best time and place for a retirement celebration. But it would definatly grab some attention if he would attend a few home games. The North Texas game on ESPN would be nice publicity.

Eventually he must but I hope BM does not retire yet. Going out into the world to seek your fortune and coming home a sucess makes homecoming the perfect time and place for a retirement announcement of this magnatude. If he does not want to play again retiring at homecoming will bring a lot of dejected cajun fans to the game.

If Brian decides to play another year and gets picked up then let him continue to play! If not then ask him to the next big FUND RAISING BANQUET and see if he would announce his retirement and come recruit and coach our special teams.
