He was 4-15 and exhausted but hey he only did the same thing 3 possessions in a row. Why get a timeout and correct that. Especially since he did the same thing at Tulane. Thats coaching by kids. _
Randell hit his shot at the end of the game today. We needed to get the ball to the basket and we did that. Why correct what works? To me that play was Marlin learning from one of the poor decisions he has already made (the set up 3 down 1 to McNeese had me scratching my head). However, that poor decision (imo) never has to be made if we play fudamentally sound basketball.

You talk about the offense and defense we call, but how can you blame the scheme when apparently the players don't feel like working hard enough to run the damn thing? How much do you have to be fussed at for standing around before you actually do something? Marlin has made some mistakes this year, but this team did not put forth enough energy to win and they got beat as a result.

You have it or you don't. I'm not sure who on this team has some right now.

Right now the only guys that I think that have it are Thomas, Farrington and Gary.

Regardless of who is tough, those are the ones showing it, IMO. _
If Farrington gets better from the line, he will be a great player next year. He knows how to go up with it and draw a foul. Gary was really impressive today. Not sure why his minutes were so limited.

There is a reason this team is loosing and my friends he needs to look at himself. _
    Ah, an objective observer.

Sometimes good coaches find ways to win close games.....substitutions at right times, a certain play call, use of a timeouts at certain times.... some coaches can win games “sometimes” on coaching.....sometimes. We have rarely won the second half this season, adjustments with rotation at times in certain situations good coaches make to pull out a win......I am just saying!

Just to clear this up, if you are referring to me saying "rude to the players" in my post I think you completely misunderstood my point. I could care less if he's tough on these guys. He needs to be.

playincajun, I dont know the details that you apparently know about the Raymone situation, but my guess would be is he is being harder on him b/c he sees the most potential in him. Sometimes, players dont see that when coaches are treating them like crap. as for him sitting out, (once again, I'm just speculating) maybe Marlin wants him to see the game from the bench so he can get a different point of view of what's going on. I've seen a bunch of coaches do this with struggling players and it works.

At McNeese, last play was drawn up for the ball to go inside to JJ Thomas. The off ball screens worked and Thomas was open. Problem was Randell was off balance when Thomas broke open and could not feed it in. That is why he took the three. Point is play was not drawn up as a three pointer. I agree with the folks who say this team has a mental issue at the end of games. Easy to understand why as they have been disappointed so many times. As far as Raymone Andrews goes, tell him not to bring up the rear when the team runs sprints. With his ability he should be leading the guys.

Foofoo. Take the rose color glasses off. Its ok for us to say some of the losses are on the players and some are on the coaches. Its not ok when the coaches or those on here put all the blame on the kids. Yes they play but the coaching plays a part or else it would not matter who has the clipboard. Now about the negative attitude it is there from the staff towards the kids you can choose not to believe it. I am sorry great coaches for which we have get better out of players . Our kids have talent but they are shutting down. Something has to change on EVERYONES. Part, players and coaches! Itcan happen THIS year not in 3 years when he has "all his kids" here.

Thanks for the clarification on that. Thomas and Bureau were both having success getting the ball to the basket that game. That's why I really didn't understand that play.

Cajunmike, why would we be taking a 2 point shot at mcneese when we were down 3 with 3.8 seconds left. That is real confusing.
