Thread: Football assistants coaches?

    Default Football assistants coaches?

Do you guys think any of the current coaches on the staff will be retained or will the new coach clean house? I believe that only two coaches will be retained (Hurlie Brown and Gerald Broussard)?

Given that this guy is already making moves and we haven't even had the press conference, I think he will clean house. I get the feeling that he will leave nothing to chance. He wants a work product that he has experienced first hand in all phases.

I would think he needs to at lest keep one or two just for some continuity with the existing players. Now he may not plan on keeping them long term (more than a year or two) unless he really feels they fit in well once he gets to know them. I think Hurley Brown is probably one that everyone agrees on if nothing else just for his recruiting ties and abilities. I would also like to see them keep Coach G but he should, IMO, be back on the offensive side of the ball. The problem may be that as Hud comes in all he will see is G's record here on the D-line and lets be honest the D-line was not a strength of the program the last few years. But an advantage that G has is his ties to the local HS coaches.
