    UL dipped into the Southeastern Conference ranks to find its next head football coach.

    Mississippi State receivers coach/passing game coordinator Mark Hudspeth accepted an offer Friday to become the 25th head coach in the history of Ragin' Cajun football, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Daily Advertiser.

    "I think it's a great fit for him," said Steve Robertson, a regional scout for Scout.com. "He had some offers in the past to coach in Division I, but it never was the right fit. From what I've been told, the commitment of UL's administration matches Mark's commitment


    Could this be true??? man I am soo pumped about what is going on... We have a stable of quality coaches... facilities being improved... I've said many times this is a sleeping giant and I think that giant is getting ready to rumble

    This is an exciting time, I think we hired the best guy interested in being our Coach. Now Coach Hudspeth, go recruit, recruit and recruit your az off. Can't wait to see our success under coach Hudspeth. The only thing I ask Coach, is that you give us a defense along with that Big O.
