A source in the UL Athletic Department confirms to KATC Sports, Mississippi State Assistant Coach Mark Hudspeth has been hired as the Head Coach of the Ragin' Cajuns.
Hudspeth has served as the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Mississippi State the last two years. He was considered one of the top recruiters on the Mississippi State Staff. Prevouisly, he had great success as the Head Coach at Division II Program North Alabama. In eight seasons at UNA, Hudspeth guided the lions to five NCAA playoff apperances and two conference championships. Before serving as Head Coach at North Alabama, Hudspeth was the Offensive Coordinator at Navy, he also helped his alma mater Delta State to a Division II National Championship as the Offensive Coordinator with the Statesmen.
A formal press conference to introduce Hudspeth in Lafayette is expected to take place Monday.
