Some Vietnam Veterans could find checks for back-pay of $200-thousand or more.

This after the Department of Veterans Affairs released a new list of health conditions caused by "Agent Orange."

We've seen the documentaries on the Vietnam War but the side effects went unnoticed for more than 40-years.

"I didn't find out about the effects of Agent Orange on me until July of this year," Vietnam Vet Louis Weil said.

Weil served in the military for 20-years. In July, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma but after filling out some papers, Weil learned his doctor fees may be covered.

"I get complete health coverage through the VA hospital at no cost at all," Weil said. "Not even any co-pay."

"My philosophy is three simple words." John Hansen of the Lafayette VA Office says they're, "file the claim."

Hansen says many vets are just now seeing the side effects of a herbicide named Agent Orange.

A chemical the VA is connecting to many diseases including a number of different cancers and even diabetes.

Those who qualify can even get a check for back-pay; some checks rewarding vets with six figures.

"When I got that check for back pay, i passed out!" Joseph Ewing says, "I couldn't believe the figure they told me."
