thanks for the info josh. He should be first team though. And that's not b/c i'm biased, the stats are there and he leads the other "top TEs" in a bunch of major categories. how is he not in the top 3?
Extremely well deserved. Hope he gets named to a couple of other All American teams. Awesome news!
Poor fella prolly woulda won the Mackey if we'd have done like we should've from the goal line and thrown him TDs off of corner fade routes instead of stinkin QB sneaks in every freakin game.
Green could've jumped over anybody for the ball. You could tell defenses that it was coming and there'd be nothing they could do to stop him.
Anyways, congrats to Ladarius. Very well deserved.
For a comparison, Egnew had 83 catches for 698 yards and four touchdown receptions in 12 games. Averaged 8.4 yards per catch.
Green had 44 catches for 794 yards and seven TDs in 10 games. Averaged 18 yards per catch.
Arkansas senior tight end D.J. Williams (49 catches for 589 yards and four TDs in 12 games) is expected to win the John Mackey Award tonight. Egnew and Wisconsin senior Lance Kendricks (39 catches for 627 yards and five TDs in 11 games) are also finalists.
It should be mentioned that voters also considered blocking skills before making a final decision.
The honors continue to pour in for Cajuns tight end Ladarius Green. Green was named a First Team All-Sun Belt selection on Wednesday and was tabbed a Second Team All-American by CBSSports.com on Thursday.
Ladarius Green is a monster
