I can respect that, but is the best we can do a Co-Offensive Line coach from an ACC team that just went 6-6, who was fired from his only head coaching job?
Look, I can understand that he may be an incredible football coach. He may have also been screwed at Georgia Southern. And if he gets the job, I will be behind him 100%. But, on paper, he is not impressive, IMO.
I actually like the fact that he is an offensive line coach. My biggest concern with the triple option is the idea of recuiting a good enough offensive line (I'm not that worried about the wideouts and quarterbacks because they are not as essential to the offense considering you are never going to throw the ball anyway). If we are bringing in a guy who specializes in work with offensive lines, hopefully he would be able to maximize the talent we do have on the line and recruit some big boys to plug up our weak spots. He was also Paul Johnson's Offensive coordinator at GSU, so a co-offensive line coach is not all he's ever been.
I'm not opposed to Hudspeth. I just think Farmer and Walker need to take a good look at Sewak and decide if they think that offense could work here.
So we are going to go with a one dimensional offense? And we have to recruit some big boys to plug up the weak spots? So I guess we are gong to be treated to a couple of years of boring losses by blowout scores before we can even hope to be able to decide if this is successful? Count me out.
Is this troublesome (Sewak)?????
I would say so.
We were one dimensional when we had Fenroy and Babb (yes I remember all of Babb's glorious broken records 2 yard dump passes real tough) in the backfield, but it still worked. Georgia Southern took in a triple option offense this year, and they are doing pretty well. We already have two quarterbacks on this roster whose skill set fit the offense in McGuire and Gautier.
Like I said, I won't be disappointed if Hudspeth if is hired. I have a feeling he will end up being the guy at the end of the day.
YEP!!!
Hudspeth is the best, says me.
Since it's a given that our hire will not be "splashy," I like Hudspeth by a mile.

Sewak would be a great choice, just put 25% of his salary in the form of a bonus if 40% of the total offense is passing yards...
A possible positive side affect of this offense may be that more players can play earlier as it is not as complex, food for thought...
