_ I'm surprised it took you this long. Hopefully our soon-to-be leaders on the O-line will take ownership and help the entire group as a whole get better. I'm not an insider by any stretch; but you'd have to admit we MUST get better upfront. From what little I was able to watch last year, we just didn't seem to create opportunities for the backs too often. Maybe scheme can help; but the guys need to continue working hard to get better too. _

I don't doubt that. Hopefully all the returning guys are getting after it with off-season conditioning. And I suspect they are just as frustrated as the fans; perhaps moreso as they are the one's that will have to learn new coaches, new techniques, schemes, etc. Hopefully we get this done ASAP.

Sewak being in the mix gives this coaching search a very interesting dynamic. The hiring authorities (Farmer and Walker) basically have a chance to choose the offensive scheme for the next few years.

Heres a question, if Sewak is hired (again, not the guy I want, but it will be what it is if hired), would that mean there is a better chance of him using a higher percentage of the money allotted for Coordinators on the defensive side of the ball. I mean, the guy is gonna run his style of offense, so I'd assume that the Offensive Coordinator would be more of a figurehead instead of a Coordinator. It would be nice to see a decent investment into very good defensive coaches. Just a thought.

No you will need to save all that money for the travel expenses when recruiting since Gerogia Tech's, and by extension Sewak's, recruiting ground all seems to be in Georgia with just a sprinkling of Florida judging by their roster.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Would we be able to pay the DC around 180-200k vs the OC who might make between 100-120k, or would we be more likely to pay the DC and the OC around the same salary. I'm thinking that if he has identified his offense, and knows what he's doing, he'd be more inclined to want to spend bigger on a good defensive coach.
