Not a lot of new info here, but this should clear up some rumors.

jay how much do you think this time without a coach will hurt our recruiting process? I seems like it wouldn't hurt it that much considering how quickly things are moving.

Anytime you change coaches, your recruiting gets set back some. But having this done by Monday isn't bad.

"And, Walker and Farmer are on the road today, presumably to interview McNeese State head coach Matt Viator. "

Damn, kind of kills the argument that the SLC and D1aa is the place to be.

I might be the only one, but I am surprised that DeForest was not interviewed in person. If you think a guy is a serious enough candidate to consider, how can an interview via the phone have the impact of and compare to the interviews done in person.

I believe we also had personal contact with him when we played OK State in Lafayette. Also heard he was in town for a second interview and that it is likely now down to DeForest and Hudspeth. If that is correct, sounds like a win-win situation for UL because either hire will be good.

This would indeed be a win-win.... While I think Hudspeth has the better credentials, my personal choice would be Joe Deforest. A UL guy who is reportedly "dying" for the job. Sounds like a good recruiter and someone who would throw himself into the job with gusto. Make it happen... either way
