McKINNEY, Texas — Louisiana’s golf team opens play today in the SMU/Stonebridge Invitational, joining 16 other teams over the 7,202-yard par-72 Stonebridge Country Club course.

The Cajuns, coming off a fifth-place finish out of 15 teams at Southern Mississippi’s Raising Cane Invitational two weeks ago, finished 15th in a 17-team field in last year’s SMU event. However, UL Lafayette has finished in the top eight in each of its first two fall events this year.
