State Police are investigating five fatal crashes this weekend across Acadiana.
The latest happened around 6:00 Sunday night on I-49 North, near mile marker 21.5. Two vehicles were involved and troopers say one person has been killed. There are no road closures to report.
In Eunice, an Elton woman was killed late Saturday night after being struck by a car on U.S. 190. 30 year old Jana Guillory and a friend were walking in the roadway, when they were both struck by a pickup truck. Guillory was pronounced dead at the scene, her friend, 30 year old Patrick Noel, of Welsh sustained moderate injuries.

In Breaux Bridge, a motorcylist was killed after driving off the road. It happened last night after 5:00 Saturday on LA 341 near Lawless Tauzin Rd. Troopers say 49 year old Eddie Bonin of New Iberia struck a ditch and was ejected from his bike.

In Vermilion Parish, a Lafayette woman was killed in a single vehicle crash on LA 82 just south of Forked Island Saturday afternoon. 22 year old Monique Vidrine lost control of her vehicle and drove through a ditch and into several trees. Vidrine was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead on scene.

Another unrestrained driver was killed in St. Mary Parish early Saturday morning. It happened on Highway 90 near the Calumet Bridge, just west of Patterson. 45-year-old Dean Broussard, of Patterson, was driving an SUV when a cane-hauler pulled onto the highway from an access road. Broussard struck the rear of that vehicle and died on scene, an investigation is underway.
