Do you guys think that the new head coach, our former assistant coach will start where Jessie Evans left off, or do you all think that we will compete at a level lower than that of last season. Of course we did lose some important seniors, but I just don't know where we will stand come the season opener. Especially with schedule that features tougher opponents than years past.

I not only like the schedule for next year, I LOVE IT! The only way to get your name out to the public in other areas is to play the big name schools and coach Lee is goin to take the program one step farther by scheduling big name schools.

I think he is a little naive in his scheduling. I would prefer this type of scheduling in year 2, AFTER he knows his team and his team knows his offense/defense.

However if he pulls off a post season trip this year he will be a hero.

You are right it would not happen without the tougher scheduling, coupled with wins of course.

turbine, i'm supprise at what you say,"after he knows his team,"he's the one who recruited most of the kids who are presently on the team and he coached them, jesse really didn't do anything you know and coach Lee's team will play harder and smarter trust me, but we'll be fine.

How will he "know" the team better going into next season than going into this season? He knows them, he recruited them, he coached them.

Anyway, I am VERY happy with the new approach to scheduling. It is essential to the growth of the program and I can accept some growing pains for the long-term benefit of the team.

Most of the schedule was done by Coach Cyprien. Coach Lee was forced to add Kansas and Charlotte to the schedule after Lamar backed out of a signed contract for two games. Coach Lee also scheduled Southern Illinois.

The team will suffer from a lack of depth. The Cajuns didn't sign anyone early last year and then signed players through two coaching transitions.

We'll take many steps forward before it's over, but we might take a step back in our overall record this year.

I dunno exactly what'll happen this coming season, but I like Coach Lee's philosophy of this year's schedule. He said something to the effect of "Look at Kentucky in the SEC. They're constantly on top, constantly number one. And it's because they constantly play high quality teams. All the other teams schedule patsies (his word for "bad"/"fluff" teams)and that's why they're always worse." Whether he had directly everything to do with this year's schedule or not, and whether or not he directly recruited every player on this year's team or not, his attitude and coaching philosophy are what matter the most! I look forward at the very least to a first round appearance in the NCAA, with hopes of 2nd and 3rd round appearances!\

    Geaux UL Ragin Cajuns!

    God Bless.
