This sounds like your unqualified opinion. What is a radio voice? Should a radio personality be able to speak clearly, annunciate properly, have proper grammar, or captivate an audience. Your choice. There is a reason James P. Bitterman has been on the air for so long. You could put a dog on the radio barking 24/7, if he draws a big enough audience, it will not matter one bit if the dog doesn't have a radio voice, he will stay on the air.

Your also forgetting where we live apparently. We are cajun people. We are not the best speakers in the world. I.E. The Waterboy. It is not our strong suit. While we are not big jibbering idiots like the world makes us out to be, we are not very good at orating. But we are personable. I understand you want to listen to the game to follow it. That seems like a reasonable request. I know myself and a bunch of other people who have zero tie to Acadiana and could not care less whether we hear the game clearly, the only reason I am tuning in is to listen to the crazy dude on the other end rant and jabber on about bringing the wood. So, you see we have a problem there. On one hand, we have a guy who can't really call the game well, but puts on an entertaining enough show that his listenership does not suffer, but actually thrives from it. Trust me, the reasons he was taken off the air have nothing to do with his ability to call the game, and more to do with his actions at the STM game. He will back on the air next year.

So I understand your frustration, but when looking at the situation through the microscope you cannot see the big picture. So until people are no longer entertained with Mr. Bitter and the way he calls the Acadiana games....put on your big boy pants...and deal with it.

For the amount of stupidity out east there is no dealing with it.

    1. We've all dealt with it
    2. He's been on so long because he buys his air and then pays for it with the sponsorships he sells in his advertisements
    3. Who said that anybody listens to him on a consistent basis? He's on at the most indirect times of the day and he buys his air. It doesn't mean people like to listen to him.

Howard Stern was one of the most hated radio personalities of all time. The majority of people who listened to him....his detractors. Whether or not you, or I, or the lot of human existence likes to listen to the guy......we still listen. If no one listened, there would not be a 10+ page thread about the guy. Your move.......

Except, Bitter does not conduct a soft porn show with playboy playmates and porn stars doing comical things with their bodies. I'd rather watch Stern than listen to him but at least he was entertaining. Sex is always easier to sell than disporportionate stupidity. BTW, I don't listen to Bitter because its physically impossible for me to do so..

And thats your choice....but I hate to break it to you....stupid sells. Jersey Shore continues to come on. It has the best of both worlds.....sex and utter stupidity. Jackass, was no sex at all except if your into male nudity. Sold well....still selling well. Jerry Springer.....do you get the point. The fact of the matter is...Bitter must be doing something worth talking about....or we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Hawk, I enjoy your posts, but you're a bit off base on this one, respectfully. Yes we are Cajun people, but I refuse to accept that 'the majority' of us 'don't speak very well'. Not to mention, public speaking is a completely different ball game than shooting the bull. As was said earlier, the guy buys his air time. His audience has nothing to do with him being on air. His sponsors pay up, and that's all that matters (that's why you here more sponsor spots than the actual game most of the time). You can't possibly defend this unproffessional bafoon after he made the remarks about Mrs Hudspeth. That's totally unacceptable..

I did not hear what he said about Mrs. Hudpeth. I haven't been able to catch his shows the last few weeks. What did I miss?

I loved hearing the Spanish guy who called the World Cup. I didn't understand a word he said. I think some who speak Spanish had trouble.

Because of his passion I listened over and over.
