Maybe because they'd rather not associate themselves with that hideous creature, or maybe just because they hate the pepper just as much as everyone else.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90

Interestingly enough, I had the opportunity to try to sell Tabasco on a local sponsorship a few years ago. First, all sponsorship sales get directed to an agency in NY city. Second, I was flat out told that Tabasco is not interested in pushing a south Louisiana/Cajun angle with the product. They view themselves as an international product with an international market and any connection to south Louisiana as far as they are concerned is purely coincidental and of no importance to their marketing efforts. This was their view 7-8 years ago.Originally Posted by rhineaux

Not just because they won't support the cajuns, but because of their stance towards all people in the area. I would like to know if this is still their angle, and if it is, then I'm gonna tell their story all over town.Originally Posted by cajunproud

They have on their bottle in big bold letters,"AVERY ISLAND, LA". Perhaps another hot sauce or Cajun spice producer might be interested.Originally Posted by Membertou
Since Tabasco does not want to be generalized as a Louisiana product. How about we go after Louisiana Hot Sauce. Besides Louisiana hot sauce is better than Tabasco. And Louisiana Hot Sauce's name works well with the Univerity of Louisiana...Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
I wonder if the university has ever contacted Cajun Chef in St. Martinville. I know he's a big LSU fan but may slide some money this way for our most fabulous pepper.
I think we should put all that effort into taking the pepper and all logos and such associated with it to Lake Martin, stuff it in a leaky pirogue with some fresh road kill, and let the alligators take care of it.Originally Posted by cjr3888
Hey, speaking of alligators and mascots....
I didn't think about that one but there are others like Tony's Sachercz (Sorry I know I butchered the spelling) and Paul Prudeum.Originally Posted by cjr3888

You Louisiana boys need to try some Great 8 Hotsauce, made right here in Murfreesboro. It is the real deal. Some of my Cajun brethren swear by it.Originally Posted by CajunHeat2
I prefer to cook with Tabasco, and add with Louisiana Hot Sauce. I also use Tabasco for Coctail Sauce.
What's up with a Louisiana guy not knowing how to spell Tony Chachere's and Prudhomme?
