Their athletic budget isnt that much more than ours. Not sure about their facilities, athletic foundations, recruiting area, etc.

We still have a lot going for us.

Why? Ball state is possibly in a greater state of desparation than we are. They are not competitive in their lowely conference two years after nearly spoiling the BCS party. They are in bad shape and they don't have any more significant resources than we do.

You could be right. I guess its perception. Considering our lack of success for so many years, they just seem to be in a better position than us.

They had 5 wins this season, a newly rennovated stadium, and went to back to back bowl games in 2007-08.

And the HC had the potential to make $600K including bonuses. I have not heard a firm number on what our future staff budget will be, but Ball State has been spending about 30% more than we have spent in the past with most of difference in the HC salary.

I think UL plans to pony up an attractive salary package, and I hope we can get to the point where we are looking back on consecutive bowl appearances in the near future.
