Thread: Crowton out at LSU?

  1. Default Re: Ragin' Cajun Blog: Gary Crowton update

    This is a non story.

I mean it has to be reported but it doesn't phase me.

This kind of posturing happens all the time in searches.

No one is ever interested unless they are the ones being hired. OK Nick Saban was the exception, he put his name in every hat he could find.

I agree totally, Turb. He was only interested if he got the job.

Good info on RedZone, T. Thanks to all of ya'll who've provided ongoing information as this process moves along. Its interesting to follow.

As far as Crowton goes, it ends up not being a big deal as to what might have happened or not happened. More than anything, it adds to the excitment and makes these threads more interesting to follow.

Can't wait for the next episode of... "AS THE SEARCH TURNS"!

So... who would YOU have chosen? But you can only pick from individuals who were interested in coming...and that we could have signed with the funds we have to offer.

I think Monken would have come had he not just accepted the GSU job last year. Dude has principles. He would have been my #1 pick.

Since he is not interested at the moment, Crowton was head and shoulders above everybody else.

    Orgeron was never serious.

After this group, it's a big gamble on any one you pick.

Of the guys left, we may as well go with the young, connected guy, Brewer.

I personally dont understand why so many people got excited about Crowton. I personally like the other guys better. I was actually hoping Jenkins would get a shot at an interview. I know its a gamble with any choice we will make but the three guys that have been mentioned anyone of them would look good in Vermilion and White JMO.

I still think we should add Carl Pelini to the short list but that's just my opinion.

Crowton would have only come if he thought he could win, and win big, in year one. Look at his resume, it is his only M.O.

For that reason and that reason only, if he had taken the job, I would have been very happy.

However since he didn't want in, I am inclined to think he would have been the wrongest person possible for the job.

So thanks Mr. C. I want to thank you for knowing what you can, and can't handle.

I have no inside info, but Monken's denial could be just like Hudspeth's. I would not be surprised if his name surfaces again.

Fine with me. Personally, this isn't a guy I want coaching my team. I didn't particularly care for the cut of his jib nor was I impressed with his blatant display of Alopecia.
