Just a little something to get it all flowing:

Here's my top 3. from first to last based off your list.

    1. Mark Hedsputh (Miss St.)
    2. Garrick McGee (Arkansas)
    3. Joe Deforest (OK St.)

After the first two mentioned. I think there is a huge drop off. No desire to see a guy who went 8-4 in his only year of coaching, and doesn't throw the ball.

Good job Jaybird. Hudspeth or Gerrick for me, not too excited by the others.

    off this list:

    1. Crowton
    2. Deforest if he can bring in really good coordinators.
    3. McGee
    4. Brewer
    5. Hudspeth

Mark Hudspeth is the most interesting coach on the list to me. Probably because there is the unkown factor as to whether he could achieve that success beyond Div II. A bit risky. Crowton had 1 good year at La. Tech and 1 good year at BYU. Good, but not impressive. All the others, too hard to gauge and not enough experience. I don't want us to hire a position coach. I think I said this in another thread, but it applies here too, I hope there are other coaches interested besides these.

after Deforest, I'm not impressed with the other candidates. But good breakdown Jay and thanks. I have a question though. I heard that UL already interviewed Ed orgeron so i would think he would be on this list. Any reason you left him off? I'm not saying I want him but just thought he was a candidate

I don't know what makes Deforest such a better candidate than the others to you. Also, Jay has already had his say on Orgeron and the chances of hiring him. He quite simply said it won't happen.

Also, who has said Bebe has interviewed already?

Im with u on this one...i dont see what the love affair with Deforrest is. Other than being an alum, what has he done that is so impressive?

Ed O said he wanted 750k, therefore pricing himself out of an interview

I wasn't saying that Deforest is the lone candidate on that list that I like. But most of the others listed AFTER him dont seem to have a resume that I would really like. but hey, I'm not the one hiring our coach and SF knows more than me. The three I like on that list are: Crowten, Hudspeth, and deforest in that order.
And I heard from a person with a strong connection to the university that bebe was interviewed. may not be true. just what i heard

I think we should all want someone who will recruit southern talent. I really believe talent can win games even when coached poorly, LSU has been doing this for years.
