Literally everything from Air Raid through Veer through true triple option has been run from the spread.
    Seriously?

For the record, I could not care less what you call it. My point is still quite valid.

And, just what would you call the offense that we've been running for 9 years? That Hudspeth runs?

Please tell me so that I may become enlightened.

After this final I'm going to celebrate by sitting in my underwear and listening to BEV with a nice Taco Bell meal.

Exactly why my first 750 posts were lackluster...kind of like preseason, you know? Keep some surprises for when you really need them. But then, when the 751st post came, well....um, what were we talking about again?

Three other sources have said that Hudspeth took the job. And ESPN's Joe Schad tweeted that Hudspeth is the new coach - after I called to talk with him about what he's hearing and tweeted about it 15 minutes earlier.

Our most productive offensive years in the Bustle era were when the QB position RAN the ball 40% of the time he touched it.

There is no such thing as a Pass Spread attack. That is simply a passing offense which needs a very good, pro-style QB.

A true Spread offense requires the QB to run the ball often as evidenced above. _

    No it doesn't.

A true spread is a spread formation with many WR's. Many teams run a true spread as it is the most common offense out there. You do not have to run the option out of the shotgun to make it a s spread scheme as Tulsa runs a pretty potent version of it. G.J. Kinne is a mobile QB but he's not Pat White. We just chose to run the option read out of it. I preferred the triple option and spread passing attack that we ran in 2005 and 2006 with it as it created much more balance. Our numbers were great in 2008 UNTIL we got Des injured and we had no balance from which to turn to.

I would also argue that Troy has run the spread quite nicely without a "true" running QB although they are typically mobile.
