    Default Mark Hudspeth

Is Mark Hudspeth being considered for the soon to be open head coaching job at UL? I know he is not there now but look at his old bio at the University of North Alabama, I find it impressive. http://www.roarlions.com/Lion_Sports...k_hudspeth.htm

Yes he is, you need to read some of the possible coaches threads. They have listed pretty much all of the names that will be attatched to the next hire.

Hudspeth is on the list though. Along with Les Koenning.

If Mullen goes to Miami, Manny Diaz will probably go with him. Hudspeth is a top candidate to take over the Miss St. program.

My friends and family at State like the guy, but say the school will look elsewhere for a HC.

Yeah, I dont see the guy having SEC HC credentials at this point. That would be an extremely scrutinized hire if MSU went that way.

Comparatively speaking, MSU hired Mullen who was the OC and QB coach at Florida for a few years and had followed Meyer previously at Utah and BGSU

Never say never. Look what Tennessee did in taking a LA Tech guy who was coming off a losing season. For that matter, look what Auburn did. Took a guy who had consecutive losing seasons at Iowa State and the entire alumni base was in an uproar over the hire. My guess is no one is still complaining today. Some OC from great programs can't win as a HC. Goes to show you never know just what you are getting in a HC based on his track record.

Both of those examples are of guys that were D1 head coaches previously. Pretty big difference, though both highly scrutinized hires.
