I do question whether either could out recruit a Hudspeth, Deforest or Crowton walking into an athletes house and saying I've come from XYZ BCS program, went to XYZ bowl and recruited/coached XYZ athlete. It is easier to recruit up at a lower FBS program with little tradition with a name, then it is to recruit up against lower FBS programs like UL or ULM. _
Crowton would probably be my #1 choice at this point because he has the head coaching experience that many are looking for and the recruiting ability that others are wanting. Is there any further word on his interest or how much it might take to land him?

If we can't afford any of the coaches on this list then we should keep Bustle because we won't get any better.

A coach that has turned a program around on a shoe string budget would be Coach Jenkins This guy has done wonders at Bethune Cookman in his first year. He won the conf. and won coach of the year. He also has a top offense and top defense. Makes you wonder.

Good point! There's no possible way that anybody else could do a good job. It's just the people on that list.

    I'm hoping you're kidding?

Dude we will pay anywhere from $400-500K for the next HC. No one on that list makes that kind of money.

I was wrong when I said I didn't think we could afford those on the list. I thought they were making more, in their current positions, than what they are.

Heads up people, Nevada's head coach Chris Ault, is getting paid $375k and we saw what they just did to Boise so I think we can surely get a winner for $400-500k

agreed. knows how to recruit FBS talent as well since he did recruiting for both UL and Rutgers before becoming HC at B-CU. would be a very good hire in my opinion if this were to be the choice but we shall see

Gary Crowton makes almost 700k at LSU. Kirby Smart makes in that same neighborhood.

If you pay the head coach that much, how much can you pay the assistants who do most of the work? Will UL assistants still be some of the worst paid in the FBS?

We keep talking about how much money we supposedly have to pay a new head coach but i haven't seen anyone accurately reveal how much we can pay his coordinators and position coaches.
