what about any of the bowden brothers?
Will we know with any certainty who will officially interview? In my opinion, until they step on campus and into the athletic office, all conversations here are hearsay.
Jay ---have you talked to any of the assistants?????? It really is a bad time---you have all these present staff members still trying to recruit and maybe impress the new coach with their abilities-----The new coach has an idea of whom he will bring in and that he has to keep some from the old staff---BUT WHOM????? I have said before that this staff probably has more intrinsic motivation then any of UL's past staffs(excluding Faulkinberry's) ----I think we have about 4 alumni on the staff!!!!
I would like to see a big name politician be named the head coach like Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich or Nancy Pelosi. They seem to have all the answers. If we can hold out for two years, looks like Obama will be available. Talk about get some media attention. For that matter, Stormy Daniels, having given up her calling to the U.S. Senate may not be a bad choice. She would add a whole new meaning to stripping the football. Can you imagine the eyes of the recruits when she walks in to their home?
Using that kind of logic Jim Tressel at Ohio State is recruiting the same type players he recruited at Div 1AA Youngstown State. WOW he must be one whale of coach to be able to do that and win in a BCS conference. So if say Louisiana College got Nick Saban to be their head coach they would all of a sudden be able to get BCS type talent.
First of all give them credit for taking advantage of the turnovers not all teams do. Second did you ever stop to think they may have created some of those turnovers. Third whether people like to hear it or not McNeese and UL recruit a lot of the same players. I know for a fact that their QB for that game was heavily recruited by UL as a defensive back. He wanted to be a QB and McNeese wanted him for that position so he went to MSU. I am not saying all McNeese players can play at UL. I am guessing there are probably 8 to 10 players on their team that UL was at least interested in at some point in time during their recruitment process. I would venture to say that UL and MSU are probably interested in many of the same HS players this year. Fourth give them credit they beat us period.
As I stated in my response to you generally higher pay usually leads to a better quality candidate but thats not always the case. You are correct higher pay should make the job more attractive to better candidates. I have offered good pay for positions in my business and hired what I thought was a great candidate but they didn't work out. It happens thats all I am saying.
I find it ironic that you defended McNeese in one single game... how they took advantage of turnovers... and that we must "credit them". However, you say that even though Gary Crowton is not running his system at LSU... that "LSU sucks". McNeese is fabulous for having beat UL, but 10-2 LSU sucks and Crowton is "mediocre at best".
I could almost buy each of your posts independently... but when I look at them together... it tends to invalidate your opinion in both cases.
