There are no guarantees with any coaching hire. The next coach will have to battle in homes and high schools for a program with little football tradition. To say any coach will fail at this point, without knowing their staff is nothing more the speculation.

A little to late in the game, but I would hope that whoever is hired takes a strong hard look at Canales as the OC.

Major Applewhite has turned down opportunties to interview at Louisiana Tech and North Texas recently. I don't see him agreeing to interview at UL.

We dont want this to be a revolving door type of situation. This will only set us back. Now lets look at a list of coaches who would maybe interested or we should take a look at and why. this doesnt they are the guy.

Clay Jennings- TCU secondary coach, TCU has been a consistant winner and may win the national championship. He has won a championships at Houston as well. He coached at UL for several years and is a coach on the rise. Has a def background and TCU has one of the top defenses for several years.

I am glad you are not doing the hiring. That is the worst list I ever saw for a head coach. All position coaches? By the way if we get a coach that can get us to a championship level and a bigger school wants that coach we won't be able to compete with the dollars they offer. If a coach leaves UL for a better job (which has never happened) it would be the best thing that has ever happened in the history of the program. Right now its a grave yard job.
