To get off the ground an ultra easy schedule every so many years would do wonders for recruiting.

You were right when you said "They have been more successful that UL has. That is what it boils down to. "

At UL that is Bull____! Trust me I know, as a former athlete, the workload for a college athlete in any sport is much harder than a regular student. Athletes are not treated like royalty like some might think.

Every perk that is available to an athlete at UL is available to every regular student at UL as well. There are no special tudors who do all of their work like LSU had. lol The only perk being an athlete gets you at UL is you get scheduling preferences.

Turbine I completely agree. I have changed my opinion on this within the last two or three years, but we should open every season up with an instate FCS program. We could rotate them in just like LSU does with the mid-majors. Then you schedule 1 money game and 1 other game with a mid-major. That gives you the best opportunity to have a successful season IMO.

We need to have the next 5 or so schedules set up that will give us the best chance to win 7+ games. Basically that means we need 6 home games 1 against a FCS and the rest Sunbelt schools.

    Your move UL? _
Yep and these teams I am sure have some sleeper players that haven't gotten the coverage and/or playing time, but have plenty of upside!!!

One kid playing for Teurlings is 6'2" , only 160+ pounds, rangie kid runs a low 4.5 sec 40, has a 32+ vertical, 2nd fastest "I" drill time on team(change of direction drill), hands like glue, but has played only 2nd year at wide out position. Had a all district player infront of him as a Jr(also played defense, corner) last season. Rotates with a 6'3"(whom has played position all his football career) team mate this year. Not a verbally assertive kid, but has AlOT of upside!!! Got to love this kid!!!!

He was over looked by MANY D1 schools because he is 5'8" and 165 when he graduated.

What schools overlooked is his Exceptional speed and rediculous ball handling skills and catching abilities, much to resemble the likes of Desean Jackson.

So instead of him staying close to home he goes all the way to the University of Tulsa and has been dominating since

some people have a perception strictly by reading the cover of a book, labeling players as "D1 Talent" but if you don't do your research on specific players then you will pass up on some big opportunities. _
Damaris Johnson is a terrible example to defend your pt. Kid was a 3 star recruit and after his performance in the state title game he became a 4 star. UL offered him and if I remember correctly it was down to UL, Tulsa, and La Tech. We recruited Ricky Johnson from Carencro who was a similar type of player and right now are on Montrel Carter from Cecilia who is also in that same mold. The people that think this staff doesn't recruit local talent are very naive. These kids just aren't choosing UL and that is the prob.
