Some say it is recruiting suicide to have a last contract year coach, I disagree.
1) For one you are giving away $60 thousand (reduced buyout) dollars needlessly.
2) You have no idea if the next coach will have the same recruiting philosophy.
3) The year-1 coach brings much more fire power to the recruiting game. Always! Meaning caliber of players goes up.
4) You put the new coach in an awkward position to honor early commitments, which may or may not match his style, or be of the caliber he would attract.
5) It puts out any loin fire that would have been lit when one finds themself in the last year of a contract.
