Nice try but you've got to do better than that. You are a rank amateur in the name calling department compared to other trolls we've seen on this board.

Now back to your response regarding Dauterive and recruiting.

The fact is he's not coaching college, is he? And if he is "probably the best recruiter in the country" as you claim then why hasn't he been coaching college for over a decade? In fact when was the last time he coaches in college? I can't even find a resume on the guy listing all his coaching experience other than articles stating that he has a 45 year coaching career. And unless that career started at 5 years old his age probably works against him as well.

Obviously the guy is a good high school coach. So are a lot of other guys. That doesn't mean they will be good college head coaches. And we are talking about hiring a D1A head coach. This will probably be the most important hire this university makes. We can't afford to gamble on a high school coach who hasn't even been an assistant in the college ranks for years.

But hey, we will gladly file your suggestion in the round file along with those suggesting Louie Cook and Ted Davidson.

Well, if you don't know who he is, you've never worn a jock strap anyway so i won't waste my time. Try doing more research before you show you're ignorance again. Just bring facts if you're able. I don't think Penn State cares how old Paterno is as long as they can get to a bowl or NC. If UL gets to one bowl with Doe it will be better than any coach ever. As far as your troll comment, i don't spend my waking moments acting like i'm an expert on something i really don't know anything about. i would love to hear other recommendations if you have any. After all, D day is Monday.

UL has been to 2 bowls.

Whoaaa, now I'm impressed with your expertise. You've worn a jock strap? WOW!

Research? That is the point. Internet searches for Dauterive come up with nothing but articles on his comments and resignation. Even searching 15 pages pack into the index comes up with nothing of substance on his resume other than references to his long (and distinguished) high school career.

As to a comparison of his age to Joe Pa, Pen state did not hire Joe Paterno when he was in his 60's. They hired him as a relatively young man. That is ideally what we are looking for, not someone who is eligible for Medicare their first day on the job.

You want other viable candidates? How about Mark Hudspeth, Kerwin Bell, JC Harper among other up and coming young coaches with HC experience on the college level? If you are not familiar with them Google their names. Unlike Dauterive you will get numerous references showing their college experience.

Hedspeth sounds kinda OK, but probably wont leave competition of SEC to come here. MSU is turning things around and being Ole Miss having a bad year may help them bring in more talent, Harper does look pretty good, and has done a good job where he's been never know. Gets a lot of TX talent left over from 4 or 5 programs that don't want them. SFA not exactly going to get them there. Recruits look at the coaches recruiting them as can you get me to the next level or a bowl, and oh yeah i need an education. Probably in that order.

Hudspeth interviewed for the ULM job last year, but turned it down because they could not commit enough money for the staff he wanted to hire. So you might won't to get another source, because he is interested in the program. All you are doing here is speculating.

My sources are very reliable, no speculation. Take it or leave it.

Except for your one unreliable source who speculated UL had never been to a bowl?

You're right, i'm referring to major bowls, the one's that count. Try to think outside the box. Boise St, Texas Tech, Louisville, etc. Non BCS teams can make a major bowl.
