Right now, I's have to give the nod to New Mexico State based on their victory over Troy. I think UNT's dominance appears to be over soon. They have fallen back to the pack, UNT, Troy, & the Cajuns all seem to be equally able to challenge NMSU. I wouldn't count MT out just yet either, although I wouldn't give them driver's seat status. It should be interesting to see how the season unfolds.

Too early to tell! We are looking good even though we are 1-2. hopefully the effort will turn into wins starting with MT and ending in the N.O. Bowl!

Going into this week, I thought that the NMSU vs. Troy was a crucial. I don't know who's in the driver's seat, but the win by the Aggies certainly did bunch up the conference. It probably could be a very big positive to the dressing room on Rhinehardt Drive.

The Troy loss shows me that the league is wide open. May the best team win.

Until this weekend I might have sided with Troy, but after the loss to NMSU, I have to say it's too early.

I think so too biged, it's early. Anyway nobody voted for Ark. St. we may want to watch them. They did play a fairly close one to Memphis (at the time, top 25 team).

Patrick Cobbs may be gone for the season, but North Texas is back in the drivers seat. They had a freshman running back named Jamario Thomas rush for 247 yards against Colorado this weekend.

Our only win is against a 1-AA team. We still haven't proven ourselves. We have shown great improvement, but so has the rest of the Sun Belt. So I think it's pretty clear that the bullseye is on Troy.
