Waiting for the secondcoming of a #10 in basketball......
........damn it already happened.![]()
Melvin White picking up an Ole Miss fumble and bringing it back for a touchdown before the end of the first half and giving me a glimpse of hope. Moments like that in games that give me more excitement than watching perennial winners I have no ties with and expecting that kind of play to happen.
Graduating in exactly 30 days, and I wouldn't change one moment of my UL experience.
Geaux Cajuns
I love those uniforms and the helmets with the double strips down the middle. Didn't Baldwin design our current helmets? Perhaps the new coach will go back to our traditional look? I wouldn't want to see the current Ragin Cajun font, a chili pepper or Saints logo on the helmet. I still love the old Cajuns font and put Louisiana on the front of the jersey.
I was born & raised in Lafayette (luckily my parents moved here from Alexandria when they got married) and have been a Ragin' Cajun fan since i was a wee lad. I am an Alumni of this University and a season ticket holder and supporter.
I have also been a Saints fan for the same amount of time and as bad as both teams have been in their history i finally witnessed utopia for the Saints.
I have the faith that one day i will witness it for my alma mater as well.
I keep my own faith.
I've lived all over the country, traveled all over the world, and studied at 6 different universities.
For me, UL is not a football team. It's not a sports program. To be honest, it's also not a research center or a library.
It's a community. It's my home. People cared about me at UL, administrators, faculty, other students. That didn't really happen at some of the other schools I attended. At a couple of them, it didn't happen at all.
I love UL because UL loved me.
Y'know, I've got an essay I've been meaning to publish on just this topic...
