If we had been told before the game...that Travis would not score...and Josh and David would have poor games...and Colby and Javon would be totally ineffective inside...and that we would STILL have a good chance to win with 30 seconds to go while playing ON THE ROAD...we'd have said it couldn't happen. Hate to say it, but last year we would have probably lost by 30. I think Coach Marlin is a keeper!

We were out-rebounded from the post positions. Both UL and Creighton shot so many long range shots it allowed an open field of rebounds. When our 5'10" guard gets double digit rebounds, it tells the story. We did not dominate the boards.
I liked the way we played overall (very good hustle on both ends). Free throws will also get fixed. Even as unbalanced as we are right now, we're a scary team. UL basketball looks fun to watch again.
It was a good effort. I was unimpressed with the atmosphere...I thought that with that many people at the game, it would have been a little louder and/or raucous. It seemed more like an NBA game than a college basketball game. Then again, these things don't always translate over the internet very well, so I could be wrong about that.
The Cajuns suck in the paint. Javan Mitchell played lazily last night. I've never really kept a solid eye on him so I don't know if last night was an anomaly, but he didn't look like he was into the game very much. Obviously the FT shooting sucks as well. I also thought their shot selection was poor.
On the other hand, there were times where they had pretty good ball movement. They played very hard on defense and were flying around the court when they moved to the Zone. I also liked what they did with the Press towards the end of the game.
I was especially pleased to see them drop the Turnover number to 10. Much better than the 15 and 20 they had the last two games.
