Officers Respond to Suicide on UL Lafayette Campus

ShareShare3 Rating: 12345 0.0 (0 votes) UL Police Press Release- On Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 at approximately 5:45pm officers responded to an attempted suicide at Legacy Park Apartments, 210 Girard Park Circle on the UL Lafayette campus.

When officers arrived, several persons were on the scene administering CPR. Officers took over CPR and applied an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and continued rescue efforts until Acadian Ambulance arrived. Medics continued CPR but were unable to revive the subject. The coroner arrived and pronounced the victim dead. The initial investigation indicated this was a suicide. The victim's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

I know three of the four RA's at Legacy, and have some friends that live in her building. A lot of people were shaken up by it last night. My prayers go out to her family and friends, and to all my UL family.
