    J-Town,
You seem to have an obsession with McNeese! What's up with that? One of Bustle's biggest issues since he has been here at UL was allowing McNeese to upset the Cajuns when he couldn't get our guys to hang onto the ball. That victory several years ago is the ONLY thing those folks in Lake Chuck have to hold over UL's head. They like to keep bringing up that issue because that is all they have. Those brokebacks are stuck in their little D-1AA hole in west Louisiana and couldn't play at the the D-1A level even if they wanted to. The biggest name school that they can get to come into Lake Charles is Cal-Poly. Then, when Poly showed up in Lake Chuck, they rolled those dudes right out of their own "HOLE"!

McNeese doesn't have anything over there that we need here at UL. Just drop that nonsense.

Okay...I'll correct myself. Coach Robe was a D1 coach that moved up to a larger program to coach the Cajuns and has had great success in doing so. I may be wrong, but I think that would be very different from a coach fronpm a FCS school moving up to a BCS school. I don't think the two are the same.

No obsession here. Trust me when I say that. I am a die hard UL fan and hold season tickets in 4 sports and 0 at Mcneese. The only time I go to games there is when UL plays. I would not trade positions with them in any sport. I just happen to like Viator and think he should get a look. I said before he is not my first choice but I am not sure my top choices are available and want to come to UL. I just don't think we can rule Viator out at this point until we know who wants this job. Hiring Viator would be an improvement over what we have right now.

Not picking on you Duggie, I agree with your post. But they do have a nice 2 story fieldhouse being built in the endzone. Wish we had one going up.

I am thinking that he would not bring but a few guys with him----Over the years coaches that they are really close with are not on the same staff because money and situations just keep them apart---many times upon getting a head job they are able to get guys to come on board at a different venue!!!!! I remember Augie got Sam Rob, Larry Zeno, and Carl Smith from big schools and Don Miller and Dwight Flannagan from smaller schools---He kept 3 guys from the former staff!!!!! We would absolutely need our Florida, Texas, and JC connections!!!!

Duggie: What we have at McNeese is a winning tradition. You guys could certainly use some of that. And while we are on the subject, you are right, one game does not a team make. I'll agree to that. Kinda like WKU celebrating the end of their 26 game losing streak at YOUR Homecoming. I know you guys are better than that, but hey, it happens. . .even to the worst of us.

Our victory several years ago (actually 3 years but I'd try to put that as far back in my memory too!) was because Bustle could not get the team to hold on to the ball? Are you serious? At best, that statement is laughable. Good teams not ony create turnovers but capitlize on them as well. At least that is what is always taught by good coaches like, well, Matt Viator.

BTW, you need to go check the overall record between McNeese and UL. There is a lot more hanging over your head than just one game. But, I digress. Try this, why don't you guys consider hiring Larry Blakeney from Troy? Since you guys turned him down "years ago" (to use your term) and hired that genius Jerry Baldwin he has flat out owned you guys as well as the Sun Belt Conference. But, I guess he came from the Southland Conference too and would not exactly measure up to the "strict" standards.

Seriously, good luck on the new hire. It's long overdue for some excitement in Lafayette on Saturday nights. I guess you could do worse than Matt Viator. Oh, wait! You did! The killer "B's" . . Baldwin and Bustle!!

Knew it wouldn't take long for one of you Brokeb@ck Boys to show up once Viator was mentioned. Man you guys sure do spend a lot of time obsessing about UL.
