I really hope you are right about that one. Because if we pay some big money to get the same old results then we will lose even more credibility than we have already lost. I'm content to have a plan where we build, learn to walk, run, and then stand on a winning tradition. If we can find a coach that does that, he will be legendary.
Are we seriously going to have a thead about this every day?
Can we hire a coach already?
Well here is my logic, CR. Miss St has a big official weekend for recruits this weekend. They like to do things before classes adjourn so the recruits can see the campus in action. That is also the reason that Dan Mullen told ESPN that he is very happy being the HC at Miss St. He does not want to spook any recruits just in case he is not offered the Florida job.
Mark Hudspeth, on the other hand, would have to push for a decision to be made as soon as possible so he can announce it on Friday and leave in good standing with the coaching staff and the university. Just in case he needs a fall back in the future.
The other candidate, IMO, is Mike Sewak. I say that only because its a matter of elimination. He is also close friends with one Scott Farmer from their days together at Ga Southern. Confidence in your coach weighs very big in this business and Scott Farmer is fixing to step into the AD realms big time. His future depends on it.
The other thing is, as far as I have read, Joe DeForest was not afforded a face to face interview. If true, that's not good. Even Viator got a face to face. So, I believe it is going to be Mark Hudspeth or Mike Sewak. And the decision will come very soon for the reasons I have outlined.
There are still plenty of good applicants out there, like Tim Brewster, who was let go by Minnesota. He actually hails from Texas and is a pretty good coach, but no one can win at Minnesota. But the timing is off for him and Pellini. So count them both out.
