Can we please lock this stupid thread? Viator won't coach here and no one wants him here. Why do the useless threads get the most traffic on this board...

My dad coached at Vinton High School in the mid sixties. He coache Bobby Kimble the lead singer of Toto. Not sure if he is interested he is in his mid seventies. If yall want I can make it happen.
Not to be rude but: Get your heads out of the clouds!!!! Take a "real" good look at Matt Viator, he is just what UL needs! I remmember the Augie Doggie days with the "BIG" name coach etc..... If they already have a Big Name or proven then we can't get em.......end of story...
We need the diamond in the rough and like it or not Matt is the next one from these parts...
We took McNeese's Baseball coach a few years ago and that looked to work out good....I watched Matt pull every program he's been at for the last 20 years out of the dump real quick and win!
Watched him score a touchdown on LSU in the 1st quarter this year with a new backfield, Freshman QB, and beat up line???? Made LSU have to play the whole way with #1's......
It's not about one game....look at his body of work....look hard.....remember the _____ whooping a low grade McNeese team put on us just three years ago.
He will leave McNeese and go somewhere bigger and be very successful, I hope and pray it's here!
Geaux Cajuns...
Its not about him being from mcneese. Its about him being ONLY from mcneese. You talk about his success at "every program" he has been at but outside of mcneese he hasn't been anywhere but highs school. Todd Dodge was very successful in HS and that didn't mean squat in D1A.
As for Robichaux you are talking apples and oranges. Besides Robe also had previous ties to UL.
You say its not about one game but then you bring it up again so apparently you are putting a lot of stock in one game. I'd put more stock into his body of work if he had more diversity in that resume. That also goes for his staff. And just because he has been fairly successful in D1AA does not mean it will translate to D1A success. For every Jim Tressell you want to name I can name a Bobby Keasler. Remember NLU had actually won a D1AA championship before moving to D1A and they have yet to have a winning season in D1A. FIU and WKU also had D1AA success prior to the move. fortunately for WKU they ran into Rickey Bustle this past year just as Viator ran into Rickey.
"He will leave McNeese and go somewhere bigger and be very successful, I hope and pray it's here!"
He hasn't shown any inclination to leave up to now and there have been plenty of opportunities.
I know you feel good about yourself...finding this quote and all, but it really doesn't apply to our situation. If coach Bustle was retained for another year, to finish his contract...then your quote would make sense. It doesn't here. And I think you should apologize to Albert Einstein. If he knew people were tossing around his quote with reckless abandon he would probably have never said them. Hudspeth is the best candidate available. Matt Viator will never....I want you to open those ears....NEVER!!!! be the coach of the Ragin Cajuns. If that hurts your feelings...so be it. Public opinion has not swayed, we knew about Hudspeth well before Ricky was officially let go. Matt Viator was never, ever the front runner. Hudspeth good....Viator bad. Are we clear troll?
Wow! Another thread gone astray!
