Ticket sales begin Monday, Sept. 13 at Noon; Game is set for Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

LOUISIANA La. - The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department and the National Basketball Association's New Orleans Hornets are teaming together to bring the excitement of professional basketball to the Cajundome in October.

On Saturday, University of Louisiana Director of Athletics Nelson Schexnayder officially announced an agreement to hold a preseason NBA game that will feature the New Orleans Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, Oct. 16 in the Cajundome at 7 p.m.

Ticket sales for the event will begin Monday, Sept. 13 at Noon. Tickets will be available at the Cajundome Box Office (337-265-2100) and all TicketMaster Outlets.

"We're very excited that the New Orleans Hornets are coming to Acadiana," Schexnayder said. "This is a great opportunity to see exciting NBA basketball and we're thrilled to have the Hornets as our partner for this event. It should be a very fun evening in and around the Cajundome."

Fans will get the opportunity to see stars such as the Hornets Jamal Mashburn and Baron Davis and the Clippers Elton Brand and Kerry Kittles.

The Hornets are staging the event as an opportunity to showcase the NBA product to different regions and to people who might not have been able to get to New Orleans for a game.

Ticket prices are as follows: courtside seats for $100; 100-and 200-level seats at $35, with children's tickets available for $25; 300-level seats along the sidelines available for $20, with children's tickets available for $15; and 300-level end zones (sections 303-306, 314-317, 319-322, 330-332) tickets priced at $10.

Children aged two (2) to 12 years will be eligible for the discount, with no ticket required for children under two.

Partial proceeds from the event will benefit UL Lafayette Athletics.
