I don't want Bebe within 100 miles of this program.

The smear campaign that the affected power wielders at Ole Miss levied against him was cunning and ruthless. I do not blame people for thinking what they think because some very savvy and powerful people spent a great deal of effort to accomplish just that.
I was appraoched by a member of "The Group" in July, before Orgeron had coached his first game at Ole Miss, and told that his tenure would be short lived and that he was on his way out. The decision had been made.
He had some success so it took longer than they had hoped, they wanted him gone by the end of his first season.
Did he contribute to the problem? Sure he did, but much of the innuendo and disparaging rumors were probably launched by internal sources at Ole Miss, in an effort to speed things along.
I have no idea whether or not he is a candidate for the job at UL, but I think he has the potential to affect the change that is needed.
Don't let David Walker pick him
Boomer, people associate NCAA violations with Orgeron (sp?) and they don't want that NCAA drama here at UL. Well all I can say is he has never been "caught" violating NCAA rules. But the perception is there and that stigma follows him and some folks are scared of the possible repercussions that we may face.
Others will say he was never successful as a HC at Ole Miss, but hell do you know how hard it is to win at Ole Miss? They have to go up against Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Georgia in the SEC. He never had a shot at being successful in Oxford. He did not fit in Oxford either, it is an elitist community and college that is run by the rich and Loyalty Foundation, not the athletic department. The cards were stacked against him from jump street.
I think Coach O would do great at a mid major like UL if he had the finances to hire 2 great coordinators. He is a Coonass and has a national name. He would lock down Louisiana on the recruiting trail aside from the kids that LSU or any other Top 10-15 program would get.
I am not for or against BEBE, but some people need to relax, because there is a coach in the Sunbelt that has done way worse thing recruiting wise than anything that Coach O has done.

There is no concrete argument against him which is why you haven't heard it. The athletic department had an opportunity to hire him at the end of last season and decided not to go down that road. He's had and continues to have some civil issues at hand and has been the source of recruiting questions from the NCAA while at previous schools. It is very risky to pay the amount of money that the Cajuns would have to pay him to potentially have some outside issues potentially set us back further. He is an intriguing figure and I'm not necessarily against the hire but the risk seems to have outweighed the positives.
Ok Boomer, why don't you tell us why he should be hired as the UL Coach. What has he done to convince you that he is so great of a hire? What exactly has he done, besides being called "a great recruiter"? And who is calling him that anyway? How has USC done this year? Oh yeah, not that great. Why are you and a few others pushing for him? What exactly has he accomplished as a coach?
I'm not gonna argue one way or another, in fact, I don't want Orgeron here at UL, but I will say that he is a great recruiter, at USC and at Ole Miss. USC had some amazing athletes when he was there, and when Houston Nutt took over at Ole Miss, he had a plethora of talent at his disposal. Orgerons problem is that he doesn't know how to coach a team X's and O's wise. If he ever could figure out the X's and O's of football, I'd be more than willing to take a flyer on him as a coach, until then, I'd rather someone like a Jim Leavitt or Jeff Bower.
That same person said that he'd rather a young and up coming coach. I'd say that I would have to agree
