As Jay stated in another thread, we rarely have exceptional attendance this early in the year. I'll be interested to see the attendance Monday. Hopefully people realized how good of a team we played tonight and aren't too discouraged.

But not abnormal for games prior to Jan. 1.

You'd be hard pressed to find attendance over 4000 for a non conference game in the last decade. My guess is you can count those on one hand and have fingers left over.

OK, we were out-manned and we came up short-------------But, I saw hustle, desire, and exciting basketball like i haven't seen in years!! I think we'll have a winning season and a real good future with Bob Marlin!!

Sat by the La. College coach and he thought that we are pretty good---and that New Mex. is out of sight----Obviously they will be outmatched against us but some of it probably a lil Coach hyperbole-----Jay with the end of the first half why do coaches not call a time out to stop the clock and get a last second play called?????? The TO would not count for the second half---Why didn't we call the TO????? Ask Coach!!!!!

It was clear that we are a much better coached team than last year. There were countless times where I saw bureau and daigle with the ball at the three pt line and I would think "oh boy, they're just gonna jack up a 3 again" then they surprise me by taking it to the basket and/or passing it. much more discipline this year.

This team is pure hustle and desire. Complete opposite of what I saw last year. and this is coming after watching us lose by 20+ points!!!

NMS is pretty good, but we missed alot of lay-ups and open shots under the basket, personally I thought we played a lot better than what the score showed. igeaux.mobi

IMHO, we just played the best team we will play this regular season. Inside painful. But Aggies are a really big team. Would love to have seen a few more 3' shots made. A lot of good looks missed, too. But the game speed was intense and overall we stayed with that speed. A few more made shots and this would have been a nail biter. We just don't have the talent of NMSU now and they were well coached and played hard too. Good indicator for both teams on what needs to be done. I know Coach Marlin wasn't happy with a lot of what he saw, but I sure liked the defensive hustle, the attack on the basket in tall pines and patience waiting for open shots. When Brown gets used to the intensity of the game, he'll be lights out. Hard work both ends. Our inside guys worked hard but have a lot to learn. Thought both Baptiste and Javan had good moments. Courtney struggled for some reason.

This is one game I would have left about half time last year. Would have been a disaster. Stayed for all minutes of both so far and will again Monday. I like this team. Cajundome will be rocking and rolling in a couple of years. Crowd got into the game a couple of times that lasted a few minutes. That was refreshing. And the crowd was a large as we've had overall in a while. Later games, get there early for a parking.

The Aggies size was a very hard match up. The Cajuns would end up with Perez guarding a 6'10" guy because it seemed NMSU had eight 6'10" guys. NMSU could shoot the 3 and then punch it inside. Cajuns did not have an inside game so NMSU just guarded the perimeter. Cajuns played hard but this was a horrible matchup. NMSU is a big 10 team living in the WAC. The last staff did not do a good job of bringing talent to campus. Bureau played really well and is stronger. Brown will be a real player. Perez can shoot. The Cajuns missed layups because of NMSU's size. We go to the rim and then have to try some fancy shot because one of the foreign giants was there. It was great effort and can't wait for Monday night. The ref's were dufus's.
