Much better prepared than what I've seen from Cajun teams the past few years. Good effort against a decent looking D-2 team. Very glad to see LaRyan back on the court, never thought I'd see on the court again after his injury. The hip is still really bothering Travis, watched the trainers working with him during some of the time he was on the bench. Saw some positives out of the new guys; hope to see Perez's inadvertent three point score on the highlight reel this season. I suspect they'll struggle a bit on Friday night due to things still being raw with the inside game. Didn't see anything to change my mind about them having a good season this year.

The Peach Belt has always been a tough D-2 basketball conference; it's the league Troy was in when they were in D-2. Same thing for the Atlanta area schools like Ga. State and Kennesaw State that have moved up to D-1. The remaining Metro Atlanta and Central Georgia schools in the PB play better ball than many of the bottom feeders in D-1.

Trivia----the first shot taken in the Marlin area was a goal----who made it???? Perez's shot was actually a backdoor slam try but was a perfect banked "3"-----I like Mumbo # 10 good athlete---Perez missed a ton but to take the many you know he can shoot-----the enemy had some really quick penetration guys and made us look bad a few times---When they went to the 3/2 matchup we adjusted well!!!!!

ragincajuns.com has attendance at 2708. I don't think it was quite that high, but there was a decent crowd for an exhibition game.

Bureau on a jumper at the 19:32 mark of the first half.

speaking of Bureau, he looked really impressive. He can be the SBC player of the year if he stays healthy. He has seemed to shake off that laziness (some of it may have been from injury too) from last year. He looked GREAT on defense and made most shots he took. He simply played like an animal. Marlin has truly brought out the best in him. I really hope he can stay healthy. we will really need him on the court this year.

As for Gary, I thought he looked really good. It seemed like forever since I last saw him so my memory may not be correct but he looked close to his old form tonight. maybe not quite there but he still looks like he can really help us. did anyone else notice a big difference between his game tonight and his games before the injury?

Loved seeing so many blocks. I dont know how many we finished with but it felt like there were double digit blocks easily.

Some of the one touch passing in the offensive end was really beautiful. Lots of ball movement, not a lot of just standing around

Perez was cold last night, but he'll be on every once in a while. Raymone is still tenacious

Negatives have already been mentioned. But nothing that can't be overcome

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Josh Brown. Good ball handling, shooting, and plays his _____ off.

Josh is an overall scoring threat, did well defensively. Loved the fast break with him and Andrews great ball movement and passing for monster dunk. Saw Andrews appeared to hurt arm and did not return for second half.
