My personal thoughts on the game: Daigle looks like ten times the player he used to be. He still took his 3's, but it seemed like he chose them more carefully and made some really nice passes. I also really liked the effort from Raymone Andrews. If he can keep himself under control, I think he is going to be a really good player for Marlin. We looked pretty sloppy for a good part of the game, but I still the right ideas were there. Definitely has me optimistic about things to come.

Lol their in the Peach belt conference. sounds like a rough conference LOL.

At the game I saw some good and bad things. Good: effort and defensive intensity were great. some some good things offensively like everyone moving the ball around and a few good decisions
Bad: A good share of bad offensive decisions. Bad passes and a lot of turnovers. Got lucky at times when they were on a fast break or when we made a bad pass and we still got the ball.

Overall, we still have a lot of room for improvement but make no mistake, this is a different team than in the past.

That Montevallo team was a very good team. Solid fundementals, strong rebounding and good defense only downfall was there shooting. The Cajuns look good, more movement in the offense with better discipline shooting, lots of turnovers though, that can be expected for first outing. One thing they did show at the end of the game was that they could shoot the three. Should be a very interesting season watching this team gel.

Lots to be encouraged about. Lots of work to do to be ready for D1 ball. The new guys will have a presence on the court. Still not a strong rebounding team. Hustle there but still no strength in grabbing rebounds. Much better looks at the basket away from the basket. Shots under 3 feet are still a mystery. Like the coaches style. Reminds me of Bobby Paschal some. Kids didn't seem scared when they made a mistake. Knew they oops and coach talked to them. But no yelling; Looking fwd to what he says tomorrow at R/B club. NMSU will be a load. That will be fun.

Much better prepared than what I've seen from Cajun teams the past few years. Good effort against a decent looking D-2 team. Very glad to see LaRyan back on the court, never thought I'd see on the court again after his injury. The hip is still really bothering Travis, watched the trainers working with him during some of the time he was on the bench. Saw some positives out of the new guys; hope to see Perez's inadvertent three point score on the highlight reel this season. I suspect they'll struggle a bit on Friday night due to things still being raw with the inside game. Didn't see anything to change my mind about them having a good season this year.

The Peach Belt has always been a tough D-2 basketball conference; it's the league Troy was in when they were in D-2. Same thing for the Atlanta area schools like Ga. State and Kennesaw State that have moved up to D-1. The remaining Metro Atlanta and Central Georgia schools in the PB play better ball than many of the bottom feeders in D-1.

Trivia----the first shot taken in the Marlin area was a goal----who made it???? Perez's shot was actually a backdoor slam try but was a perfect banked "3"-----I like Mumbo # 10 good athlete---Perez missed a ton but to take the many you know he can shoot-----the enemy had some really quick penetration guys and made us look bad a few times---When they went to the 3/2 matchup we adjusted well!!!!!

ragincajuns.com has attendance at 2708. I don't think it was quite that high, but there was a decent crowd for an exhibition game.
