Thread: Pure hustle: Justin Venable

  1. UL Football Pure hustle: Justin Venable

I saw a lot of players hustling when Louisiana defeated Northwestern, but one that jumps out at me was Justin Venable's special teams down field play. Of course it took Mayeux's great punt coupled with Venable's hustle to give NSU a 96 yard field in the scoreless second half.

Here's Justin, Louisiana's deep snapper, after hiking the ball he somehow gets down field 1st. Gets down to the goal line to make a slide, glide, field postion denied, touchback saving play.

    Way to GEAUX JUSTIN #48.

Awesome hustle and determination. We would be in great shape if we could get that type of attitude and drive from all our players.

I thought Special Teams was the difference maker.

A blocked field goal, which Michael Adams scooped up and returned to the Northwestern 25, leading to a Babb to Travis Smothers TD.

Mayeux and Venable teaming up to give NSU a 96 yard field in the scoreless second half.

Hey the Cajuns are 5-1 the last 6 games.

Turbine, you must have been standing close to where I was sitting. I saw this play up close and when I saw that it was Justin who downed the ball I could not believe it. Great hustle and a hell-of-a play on his part.
