Great show and I am pumped to hear him refer to the school by it's proper name USL.
Are you on Drugs? USL is dead. This gives me a chance to gripe about this sight which I love so much. Why in the hell do you have the old stuff listed by the schools name at the time? We are Louisiana, or UL. Not SLII, NOT SLI, NOT USL, NOT UL Lafayette. Hell ULL is better than any of those.
I'm torn thanks for the compliment, and criticism, I think.Originally posted by WebWatchDog

Believe me I put some thought into this when the web site was started. It came down to this; if you don't remember your past, your future is doomed to failure.
Give Jay a break his top-25 reminiscence show was awesome. Do you ignore the schools former names or pretend there was no school before 1999? I think not.
Look at the bright side. You didn’t hear “Lafayette” on his show did you?
Let me guess. 2 of the top 5 memories for him were baseball, 1 was football, softball, and basketball.
#1 UL over Clemson in 9th inning
#2 UL over Oklahoma in the tourney
#3 UL over Michigan in Softball to make the WCWS for first time
#4 UL over Texas A&M
#5 UL over South Carolina in the Super Regionals.
This would be my guesses for BOP's top 5.
He may have had these in there as well:
-UL loses to Tennessee in final seconds in NIT
-UL over Kentucky in Rupp Arena
-UL over Oklahoma at Okla.
My top 5 would have looked a lot different than his.
There is no bigger moment in the entirity of Cajun athletics than the victory over A&M.

What about soundly beating Santa Clara at Blackham to go to the NIT Final Four? I'll never forget the band playing New York, New York" in the final minutes as the players on the bench were doing the kick a la the Rockettes. What a night!
Don't think he covered that one.....At least he must not have because his top 25 are events which he covered as a sports caster.
In any case, I agree with you.
Turbine, you're a real nice guy to post this thread after the way Jay treated you on the air during the top 25 ESPN most contoversial sports events.
Personally, I think he owes you a public apology!!!!
The game against Oklahoma in Oklahoma, the game at the Kentucky Invitational and the game against Santa Clara were games when I was not in attendance.Originally posted by HOTBOUDIN

In order to qualify, I had to be there, and I had to be working.
