Thread: McGuire almost produced a win

  1. Default McGuire almost produced a win

McGuire was especially efficient after the Cajuns fell behind 31-17 with 9:17 left. He accounted for all but one yard on an 11-play scoring drive capped by Aaron Spikes' 1-yard TD run to make it a seven-point game after completing 6-of-9 passes for 85 yards.

IMO, he should have been the starting QB all year. I said it to start the year and I'll say it again after this performance. He likely would not have gotten the injury he did in practice if he was playing QB.

I fully understand the "it" that Turbine always mentions with regards to Mac. He just has it. Anytime he's at QB, I really have the confidence that he will make a play and get it done.

Obviously we didnt get the win this week, but you get the gist.

I'm STILL trying to understand what led Bustle to choose Masson over McGuire LAST YEAR.

    Yep.

Although, it may not have made much of a difference in our final record due to how bad our defense has played.

Now, I am very happy he will get a chance to lead this team the rest of the way, and maybe impress the next staff to the point he'll be #1 next season.

Or, he'll catch lightning in a bottle and win out starting with a win over Ole Miss, make a bowl game, and save Bustle's job.

I'm rooting for the second option.

Horseshoes and hand grenades....huh I know the analogy, but one you play games with and the other is used when your in deep sh#t and need to kill someone. I think Mac is the hand grenade.

The problem with our football program is that we keep throwing hand grenades in the first half and the other side pulls the pin and throws them back in the second half.

Maybe we should change positions after throwing the grenade...or would that be considered a "halftime adjustment"?

Halftime adjustment ? That's something we seem to lack every week !

McGuire did play very well and its great to see hopefully he can build on it and continue to perform at a high level the rest of the way.
