Thread: Ricky's Gotta GEAUX

    Ragin' Cajuns Ricky's Gotta GEAUX

    Fellow Cajuns,

I have continued to follow this program and this site since my son completed his football eligibility and graduated from UL in 2005.

It is with a heavy heart that I must admit there has been little or no progress made under the present head coach's regime.

Might have actually back peddled a bit.

It tears my heart out that this university with so much potential can't seem to find the guy who is the right fit.

It is however time to bid the Hustle-up Bustle-up tenure a fond farewell.

Move the program forward in a new direction.

I still maintain a good young recruiter and coach from the outside of the current staff is what this program needs. (SEC, ACC, or CUSA, D-coordinator)
Build a solid shut down D and the rest will come. example 1A - Bo Pellini

Get your search committee in place, agree on an attractive contract package, (bite the bullet) and geaux find a good young coach.

(Start a RCAF - Ragin Cajun Athletic Foundation) I know most of you will balk at the similarity to another orgnaization whose name resembles this. But consider the funding mechanism it provides and the competitive potential it could provide. The Alumni groups, and other benefactors have not provided the funding levels required to truly be competitive. Call it whatever you want to. I personally know two men who are willing to be charter members and contributors.

Otherwise stick with this guy and continue to dwell in the world of obscurity and ridicule. WKU loss at home-coming are you kidding me?

In closing, I say goodbye Ricky, don't go away hurt or mad, please, JUST GO AWAY ! ! ! !

    AND GEAUX FORTH YOU RAGIN CAJUNS AND PROSPER FOREVER ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

You haven't paid much attention to the program. The scores, perhaps.

We started the RCAF nearly two years ago.

Tell the gentlemen that you know to stroke the check because the RCAF is in place.

I didn't know about the RCAF. Thank you for that information. We will definetly join and support it as soon as Bustle's firing has been announced. I gave considerable contributions to the University while my son was there. I won't start again until I see things going in the right direction.

why not join now and help fund the next coach's salary? if you won't join now, you'll find another excuse not to join in the future.

This thread already tells me UL has a lot of untapped potential. . . and a lot of work to do.

In the OP's defense, the only reason I even know about RCAF is because I visit this page every day, several times a day. Aside from the Caravans, RCAF doesn't appear to be very visible in the public.
No, I'm not a member (a desperately poor student, yes), but hopefully that will change when I graduate.

My father in law played baseball at USL, and he just learned about RCAF a few weeks ago when I told him about the progress being made.

Points to another area that needs to be addressed. UL marketing and promotion. We make it hard for people to support this university.

There have been billboards around town as well as mailings and newspaper ads. I believe there is also information about RCAF in every gameday program.
