  At the start of his weekly press conference Monday, UL coach Rickey Bustle apologized to fans for his team's performance in Saturday's 54-21 homecoming loss to Western Kentucky.

Bustle didn't want to dwell on the loss to a second-year FBS program that had dropped 26 consecutive games.

Yeah, I definitely stole it because it fits my sentiments very nicely. Anytime I have to remove my Fenroy avatar, you know it's serious business.

And the "true fan" comments really stuck out to me as well. Very odd way to say that.

He's right that the fans who always go will still be there. However, he is alienating a large amount of fans that will take this comment personal.

While that one is very awkward, the thing that sticks out to me in that article is this

"It was going to test us to the core of our character. To me, there's not a lot of difference between mental toughness and character. I do believe in the character of this football team. I expect them to fully respond."

I'm sorry if any players read this, but I'm not sure about the mental toughness because it seems that any time adversity hits this team, we break down. When we gave up the fumble return for a TD against WKU we acted defeated. Same with when Lawson had a fumble on the first play of the MT game. We came out after half againt WKU and drove down for a TD to cut the lead to 10, but after WKU drove down and scored on their next possession we looked like it was over. A mentally tough team doesn't do that.

So because I'm not going to be at the FIU game, I'm not a true fan? I'm leaving for vacation that day, and wasn't making the game either way, which I'm quite bummed about BECUASE I am a TRUE FAN!
